Elden Ring: Nightreign DLC Wishlist – More Bosses, Madcap Events, and Maybe… Bloodborne?!

Eurogamer's Ed Nightingale ponders what the upcoming Elden Ring: Nightreign DLC could bring, from new classes and brutal bosses to wilder environmental events... and a cheeky Bloodborne crossover wish.
Right, so FromSoftware's Elden Ring spin-off, *Nightreign*, is getting some DLC, and the rumour mill is churning faster than a Mimic Tear trying to decide what to copy. We know from a leaked Steam page that we're getting "additional playable characters and bosses," but what *else* could be lurking in the shadows? Eurogamer's Ed Nightingale has been gazing into the crystal ball (or, you know, playing the game a lot) and came up with a cracking wishlist. Let's dive in, shall we?
First up, those 'additional playable characters'. The base game's Nightfarers are alright, but a Prophet-focused class, built around Faith magic and buffs, is screaming to be added. Imagine a proper support character, healing your mates while they’re getting walloped by some Everdark Sovereign. Could be a bit dicey solo, mind you, but the co-op potential is huge.
Then there's the Wretch. Not just any Wretch, but a Mimic Tear *Wretch*. A character who can morph and cherry-pick abilities from existing Nightfarers? Fair dinkum, that's genius. Or, taking a leaf out of *Shadow of the Erdtree*'s book, how about a martial artist Nightfarer, all whirling kicks and dragon magic? Basically Bruce Lee in the Lands Between. Yes, please!
But what about the bosses? *Nightreign* throws a lot of them at you, but the repetition can get a bit tedious. More diversity is key. Malenia, arguably *Elden Ring*'s most iconic (and terrifying) boss, is conspicuously absent. Lore reasons, apparently. But I reckon they could bend the rules just this once – imagine her as a truly horrifying invasion boss. Radahn would be another excellent addition, especially as a Nightlord. And let's not forget *Shadow of the Erdtree*; the Divine Beast Dancing Lion would make a stonking field boss, wouldn't it?
Of course, there are the *Dark Souls* alumni to consider. Ornstein and Smough, souped-up for three players, would be pure chaos. Pontiff Sulyvahn and The Pursuer would also be welcome additions to the party.
Speaking of Nightlords, we definitely need more of them. They're unique to *Nightreign*, so the possibilities are endless. But one element that's missing? Scarlet Rot. A highly poisonous abomination is practically mandatory. The existing Nightlords are already pretty inventive (that Equilibrious Beast quiz, eh?), so let's see FromSoftware push the boundaries even further. A Nightlord that manipulates the environment? Sign me up (as long as it's not another cursed tree... *shudders*).
And then there are the Shifting Earth events – the dynamic environmental changes that shake up the map. We've got craters, mountaintops, rotted woods… but why stop there? A Haligtree event, with a cheeky Malenia fight and health regen reward, would be spectacular. Or perhaps a *Shadow of the Erdtree*-themed event, filled with ghostly gravestones and Furnace Golems, culminating in the Abyssal Woods. Spooky!
But let's be honest, the real dream? A *Bloodborne*-themed DLC. Look, I know Sony owns the rights, and *Nightreign* is multiplatform, but a wizard can dream, can't he? Father Gascoigne invading the graveyards, night boss battles against Vicar Amelia, Ludwig, or Orphan of Kos... A Hunter Nightfarer with a pistol and whip... A Shifting Earth event into the gothic spires of Yarnham... *sigh*. One can only hope!
Even if that's nothing but fanciful thinking, more unique bosses, some additional classes to play, and continued updates to the shifting earth events, *Nightreign* could be a game talked about for years to come.
