El Paso, Elsewhere 2 has been officially announced for a 2027 release on PC and Xbox Series X/S, bringing back protagonist James Savage for another round of neo-noir monster hunting.
The cult hit neo-noir shooter is officially getting a follow-up. IGN South Africa recently debuted the official announcement trailer for El Paso, Elsewhere 2, promising more of the high stakes, heavy artillery, and dramatic slow motion combat that made the original 2023 release a memorable indie darling. Players will once again step into the trench coat of protagonist James Savage as he navigates a supernatural underworld filled with sinister gargoyles, possessed animatronics, and gun-toting vampires.
This time around, the narrative stakes are driving things into even darker territory. After being betrayed by a close friend, James finds himself dragged straight into the Void to settle a debt with an eldritch horror. Having previously made the ultimate sacrifice by killing the monster he loved to save the world, James now faces the inverse challenge of saving his betrayer just to secure his own survival. The campaign spans over twenty handcrafted levels distributed across a cross-country journey through the United States.
For fans of atmospheric action games, the sequel looks to double down on everything that worked the first time around. While full details on monetization, platform expansions, or streaming integrations remain under wraps, we know the game is targeting a 2027 release window. It is currently slated to launch on PC via Steam and on Xbox Series X/S. You can check out the original announcement breakdown and trailer over at IGN South Africa.
