Dunderbeck Is the Most Nauseating Inventory Management Autobattler You Will Ever Play

Dunderbeck is an autobattler that turns inventory management into a stomach-churning survival puzzle where players must process and eat everything from rats to unicorns.

Inventory management is usually a neat exercise in spatial reasoning, but a new indie title is throwing conventional design straight out the window. According to Rock Paper Shotgun, an upcoming autobattler called Dunderbeck tasks players with helping a jovial Cincinnati exterminator process everything he encounters into weapons, upgrades, and deeply questionable meals. Your job is to sort through a stream of bizarre loot while keeping your character fighting fit on the top of the screen.

The twist here is that virtually everything in the game is edible at least once, including mythological creatures, ordinary pests, and rainbow-colored waste. Players can drag corpses into mincers to combine strange ingredients or feed them directly to the protagonist. If you feed the exterminator something particularly unholy, he might even puke, though you can apparently capitalize on that mechanical setback for unexpected benefits.

The currently available demo features two distinct townships ranging from classic forest biomes to grim sewers, giving a taste of the full release. The complete game promises over 120 unique items and recipes to master, making it a dream for players who love optimizing grid inventories. If you want to dive into the stomach-churning chaos for yourself, you can check out the original coverage and demo details over at Rock Paper Shotgun.
