Dragon's Dogma 2 Update Finally Fixes Fast Travel Ahead of Dark Arisen Expansion

Dragon's Dogma 2 receives a major update adding infinite fast travel items and new Portcrystals, paving the way for the upcoming Dark Arisen expansion.
Capcom is finally giving players what they have been asking for since launch. A major new update for Dragon's Dogma 2 tackles one of the community's most persistent complaints by overhauling the game's restrictive fast travel system. The update introduces the Eternal Ferrystone, a reusable item that lets players teleport across the map without burning through rare consumables. Alongside the infinite stone, additional Portcrystals have been dropped into key locations like Melve, Checkpoint Rest Town, and the Volcanic Island Camp, drastically cutting down on tedious foot backtracking.
Beyond travel quality-of-life adjustments, the June patch brings a fresh Guardian specialization for Pawns, designed to help them better protect players during dangerous camp check-ins and oxcart rides. The update also rolls out UI tweaks, adjusted quest rewards, and treasure chest improvements. This release is the first of two planned content drops leading into the upcoming Dark Arisen expansion, which was recently confirmed alongside a surprise Nintendo Switch 2 port announcement during a Nintendo Direct showcase.
While the original release leaned heavily into old-school open world friction, forcing players to respect the journey and manage limited resources, these updates show a developer willing to listen to feedback without sacrificing the game's core identity. For players who dropped off due to travel fatigue, or newcomers planning to jump in ahead of the expansion, this patch removes a major barrier to entry.
