Doctor Doom is heading to Marvel Cosmic Invasion this fall in a new paid DLC called The Siege of Castle Doom, bringing a brand new mode and two unannounced playable characters to the retro brawler.
Developer Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu are keeping the momentum going for Marvel Cosmic Invasion, announcing a major new expansion titled The Siege of Castle Doom for later this year. Following a well-received summer character pack that introduced Cyclops and The Thing to the arcade-style brawler, this upcoming paid DLC puts the iconic villain front and center with an entirely new game mode and two fresh playable characters. While details remain scarce, the studio has yet to confirm whether Doom himself will step out from the boss chair and onto the playable roster.
Timing could not be better for the Latverian monarch, who is currently dominating the conversation across pop culture ahead of his cinematic debut later this year and his recent appearances in the fighting game space. For players who treat cooperative beat-em-ups as essential weekend hangouts with friends, the addition of a fresh mode gives the community a strong reason to jump back into the action. Tribute Games has built a solid reputation for honoring classic arcade roots while modernizing the experience for contemporary cross-platform players, and this follow-up looks to keep that streak alive.
The Siege of Castle Doom arrives this fall across Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, though pricing and an exact release date are still under wraps. As the community speculates on which heroes or villains might round out the two new character slots, the expansion adds another compelling update to an ecosystem where players expect ongoing support and fresh content drops long after launch.
