Disney Lorcana's acclaimed Gateway starter set is currently 20% off on Amazon, dropping to $19.99 and providing an accessible, rewarding entry point for new trading card game players.
As Disney Lorcana approaches its third anniversary, Ravensburger's breakout trading card game continues to find smart ways to bring new players into the fold. The standout Gateway starter set is currently discounted by 20% on Amazon, dropping the price to $19.99 and offering one of the most frictionless onboarding experiences in the modern TCG space. For anyone looking to jump in without feeling overwhelmed by years of expansions, this box serves as the ideal baseline.
What makes Gateway special is how it structures the learning curve. Instead of dumping a massive rulebook and complete decks on a newcomer, the box starts players off with two basic thirty-card decks featuring icons like Mickey, Elsa, Stitch, and Maleficent. As you play through the guided tutorial, you steadily open reward packs that expand your options and introduce card synergies organically. It cleverly mimics the thrill of cracking packs while doubling as a functional teaching tool, complete with a sturdy physical game board.
For those more interested in collecting than competitive play, Amazon has also discounted the Collection Starter set to $27.51. That bundle comes packaged with a special variant of Stitch, four packs from the Winterspell set, and a card binder to store them. As physical TCGs increasingly compete with digital economies and live-service titles for our attention, well-designed starter products like these remain essential for building local communities.
