Disney, Atari, and Digital Eclipse are bringing classic Toy Story and Pixar games to modern platforms with Toy Story: Retro Roundup! and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition.
Nostalgia is getting a serious upgrade as Disney, Atari, and preservation experts Digital Eclipse team up for a massive blast from the past. Ahead of the theatrical release of Toy Story 5, the companies have announced two new retro releases, Toy Story: Retro Roundup! and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition. For players who grew up plugging cartridges into older consoles or sneaking playtime on family computers, this drop is a welcome chance to revisit some defining pieces of late nineties and early noughties licensed gaming history.
Toy Story: Retro Roundup! serves as a comprehensive time capsule, gathering classic Pixar titles including the original 1995 Toy Story game, A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and Toy Story Racer. While a few of these gems trickled onto modern PlayStation subscriptions, this release marks the first time many of them are heading to PC alongside modern Nintendo and Xbox hardware. Digital Eclipse brings a stellar reputation for meticulous preservation work to the table, meaning players can expect thoughtful features rather than a quick, low effort port.
Releases like this do more than just cash in on upcoming movie releases because they offer a vital lifeline for digital history. As storefronts shift and older hardware becomes harder to maintain, specialized preservationists keep playable history alive for newer generations of players across console, PC, and cloud setups. Whether you are chasing speedruns or just looking to share a piece of your childhood library with younger players, Retro Roundup! is shaping up to be an essential addition to any digital collection.
