Did a Massive Leak Just Reveal the Entire Map for Pokémon Winds and Waves?

A major community leak has potentially revealed the full map, island count, and gym types for Pokémon Winds and Waves ahead of its 2027 release.

Following its initial reveal back in February, Game Freak has kept details about Pokémon Winds and Waves relatively close to the chest. Players have only caught glimpses of a starter island and a general sense of an island-heavy setting for the upcoming 2027 Nintendo exclusive. However, a major leak shared by prominent community source Centro Leaks has apparently blown the door wide open. According to the leaked illustrations originating from internal data sources, the new region will feature around 17 distinct islands and massive expanses of deep-sea exploration.

Drawing heavily from the geography of Southeast Asia and Indonesia, the leaked map points to a sprawling maritime adventure that leans hard into ocean navigation. The shared material outlines a diverse mix of terrain, including traditional mainstays like ruins, power plants, and hotels, alongside more atmospheric locations like a dedicated ghost island and a sprawling wasteland. Dataminers and community leakers also claim the layout maps out several upcoming gym types, including poison, flying, fighting, steel, dark, fairy, and normal.

While the source has a strong track record of correctly predicting titles and starter Pokémon prior to official announcements, players should still approach these details with a healthy dose of caution. Because the information stems from earlier development documents, certain geographic elements might shift or vanish entirely by the time the game actually launches. Even so, considering this represents the longest gap between mainline entries in franchise history, the prospect of a massive, archipelago-focused regional scale gives the community plenty of reasons to get excited for 2027.
