Blizzard announced at BlizzCon that Diablo 4 is bringing back the classic Amazon class in 2027, launching a nostalgia-filled anniversary season, and releasing on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Blizzard used BlizzCon to prove that Diablo 4 still has plenty of life left in it despite the headline-grabbing announcement of Diablo 5. During the opening ceremony, the studio revealed that the iconic Amazon class from Diablo 2 is making its triumphant return in a class pack scheduled for the first half of 2027. Bringing her signature bow and the brand-new Javelin weapon type, the Amazon will expand the current roster of eight playable classes and give veteran players a fresh tactical toolkit to master.
To celebrate the franchise's thirtieth anniversary, Blizzard also announced the upcoming Season of Hell's Legacy, launching September 15. Polygon reports that this nostalgia-heavy update acts as a greatest hits collection for the series, featuring classic enemies, locations, and items from past entries, alongside a crossover event with The Witcher franchise.
Simultaneously, portable players are getting a major win. The Diablo 4 Age of Hatred Collection is heading to Nintendo's next-generation hardware on September 15, bundling the base game and its two expansions, Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred, into a single package for the hybrid platform.
