Deltarune Chapter 5 gets a surprise June 24 release date announcement during the latest Nintendo Direct, dropping as a free update for existing owners across PC, consoles, and Nintendo Switch systems.
The wait for more Toby Fox storytelling is almost over. During the June 9 Nintendo Direct showcase, the official release date for Deltarune Chapter 5 was revealed as June 24, 2026. Creator Toby Fox surprised the community with a trailer detailing new environments, battle systems, and narrative beats for Kris, Susie, and Ralsei. The upcoming chapter will launch across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the newly announced Switch 2 lineup.
For players who purchased the multi-chapter package in 2025, this new content will arrive as a free update. The episodic release model has kept community engagement remarkably high since the first two chapters dropped for free back in 2018 and 2021. With the journey scaling toward its planned seven-chapter conclusion, the steady pacing of these drops has maintained a massive social footprint across streaming platforms and community theory crafting spaces.
This rapid turnaround comes as welcome news for indie RPG fans who have closely monitored development updates. As platform lines continue to blur and cross-generation support becomes standard for major indie releases, bringing Chapter 5 to both current and next-generation hardware ensures the community can transition together.
