Dead Space Makes a Surprise Return Through Battlefield 6 Halloween Crossover

Electronic Arts is reviving the Dead Space franchise temporarily through a Halloween-themed crossover event in Battlefield 6, featuring PvE modes and iconic armor skins.

As reported by Polygon, Electronic Arts is bringing Isaac Clarke's terrifying universe back to life in an unexpected way. Despite the acclaimed 2023 Dead Space remake sitting on ice due to underwhelming commercial performance, a new trailer for Battlefield 6 reveals that the sci-fi franchise is returning for a limited-time Halloween event. The final shot of the season five preview shows soldiers wearing iconic Isaac Clarke armor alongside the unmistakable double-helix Marker.

According to datamined details and leaks, this upcoming crossover will drop players into Area 51 for a PvE Rush-style mode. Squads will fight off waves of Marked Soldiers and attempt to destroy Marker Shrines while utilizing special event weapon battle pickups. Players can also expect to unlock RIG suit skins and themed weapon variants as part of the seasonal battle pass ecosystem.

This crossover makes a lot of sense behind the scenes since EA tasked the original Dead Space remake team at Motive Studio with assisting on Battlefield development. While it is not a full new entry in the survival horror series, it gives longtime fans a fresh taste of the franchise. Season 5 of Battlefield 6 launches on October 13 across current-gen consoles and PC.
