Dave the Diver's Jungle Jaunt Delayed, But Free Godzilla Makes a Splash!

Dave the Diver's 'In the Jungle' DLC is delayed, but Mintrocket is making amends with free Godzilla, extended DLC availability, and price adjustments, proving they're actually listening to their players (shocking, I know!).
Right, so Dave the Diver fans, brace yourselves. Mintrocket just dropped a bit of a bombshell: the 'In the Jungle' DLC is getting pushed back to early 2026. Bugger. We first saw a glimpse of this new story expansion, promising a fresh underwater locale and the joy of catching (and cooking!) freshwater fish, way back at The Game Awards 2024. But, as Mintrocket Studio Head Jaeho Hwang explained in a recent anniversary video (check it out if you're keen on some behind-the-scenes peeks), they've got a few too many "cool ideas floating around" and need a bit more time to wrangle them all.
Now, delays are never ideal, are they? But before you chuck your flippers in frustration, hold your horses. Mintrocket seems to be doing its best to soften the blow. Remember that limited-time Ichiban's Holidays DLC? The one that had some players feeling a bit pressured by the FOMO? Well, they've listened to the grumbles (good on 'em!) and decided to extend its availability until the end of 2026 across all platforms. And get this: the Godzilla DLC, which was free but disappeared last year, is back, baby! You can snag it for free right now, and it'll be available until the end of next year. Giant radioactive lizards eating sushi? Count me in! (Just watch out for the wasabi...)
Hwang also addressed concerns about the Ichiban's Holidays DLC price, admitting they "weren't thoughtful enough" and promising regular discounts to make it more accessible. Fair dinkum, that’s a solid response. It's nice to see a studio actually listening to player feedback, instead of just burying their heads in the sand. They’re even offering a free upgrade to Nintendo Switch 2 owners, which is a nice touch, innit?
So, the jungle's gonna take a bit longer to arrive, but at least we've got free Godzilla and extended DLC availability to keep us diving in the meantime. Not a bad trade, all things considered. And hey, maybe this extra development time will mean the 'In the Jungle' DLC will be even better when it finally surfaces. Optimism, mate, gotta have it! (Although, personally, I reckon they could add a Kraken, that would definitely get me excited...)
