Comedy fans and cinephiles have a new project to keep on their radar as IGN South Africa recently debuted the official trailer for Idiots. The upcoming film features a star-studded cast including Dave Franco, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Mason Thames, Kiernan Shipka, Nicholas Braun, and Peter Dinklage. Written and directed by Macon Blair, the movie leans hard into chaotic energy and dark comedy.
The plot follows two thoroughly unqualified individuals who accept a seemingly straightforward gig to transport a wealthy teenager played by Mason Thames to a rehab facility. Naturally, the simple transport job quickly spirals out of control into a series of dangerous and unpredictable situations. Fans of high-stakes comedy will likely find plenty to enjoy in the escalating mayhem shown in the initial footage.
For those tracking upcoming theatrical releases, Idiots is scheduled to hit the big screen on August 28, 2026. As we get closer to that date, it will be interesting to see how the marketing campaign unfolds across streaming commentary channels and social feeds where comedy trailers frequently find a second life among digital communities.
