Date Everything's Save Files Playing Hide and Seek? New Hotfix to the Rescue!

Date Everything got a big update to fix save issues and other bugs, especially on PC and Nintendo Switch, with a sale on the Lavish Edition to sweeten the deal. Sassy Chap Games are working hard to create a flawless experience, but as always, the players are finding the flaws!

Right, so *Date Everything* just got a rather chunky update, and if you've been elbow-deep in romance sims, you've probably noticed. Sassy Chap Games (bless their cotton socks) have been battling gremlins in the code since the game launched, and this latest patch – Hotfix 2.1 for PC and a 'Mega Patch' for the Switch – aims to squash some particularly nasty bugs.

According to Game Rant, who initially covered the news, the biggest issue was save files going AWOL, leaving players staring at loading screens longer than it takes to actually find a date these days. Apparently, the SPECS (special stat) system was also acting a bit…temperamental, especially in New Game+. Sounds familiar? It should if you've ever tried juggling multiple relationships in real life, eh?

The Switch version, bless its little handheld heart, is getting the full monty – all the fixes from Hotfix 1 and 2 bundled into one glorious Mega Patch. That means Switch players should now be up-to-date with all the improvements, which is a fair dinkum relief, I reckon. No more feeling like you're playing a half-finished game.

But hold your horses, dating sim fanatics! Sassy Chap Games are still wrestling with other bugs, including dialogue loops and progress blockers affecting some of the dateable characters like Lyric, Scandalabra (what a name!), Dasha, Rebel, and Celia. They're promising another full hotfix soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

In the meantime, if you haven't jumped into the *Date Everything* dating pool yet, now might be the time. Until August 11th, the Lavish Edition – which includes the base game, the premium Lavish DLC, an artbook, the soundtrack, and some in-game customization options – is on sale for a steal. We're talking nearly getting the DLC for free. Bargain!

Specifically for the PC the developers mention, 'On steam, this tends to leave players stuck on the loading screen. This issue should now be resolved'. Which sounds like a priority one issue.

Switch users also now get added save backups 'Added a save backup system to recover from corrupted saves'

They also dropped a massive list of fixes ranging from "Fixed various VO-text mismatches and typos" to "Fixed a soft lock with Wyndolyn when talking about pizza", which feels like a sentence taken directly from my life.

So, the long and short of it? If you're a *Date Everything* player, update your game, reload a save from before the patch, and dive back in. If you're not, grab the Lavish Edition while it's cheap and prepare for some digital romance…and hopefully fewer bugs than a swamp.

Big thanks to Game Rant for spotting this update. Always nice when the devs are on top of the issues.
