Dan Mintz reflects on his iconic role as Tina Belcher and shares his top five Bob's Burgers episodes to celebrate the release of his new animated YouTube stand-up special, as reported by Polygon.
For over sixteen seasons and three hundred episodes of Bob's Burgers, comedian Dan Mintz has defined the awkward, deadpan energy of thirteen-year-old Tina Belcher. Now, as Mintz prepares to launch his new YouTube stand-up special titled Dan Mintz: Well Rounded Entertainer, he is leaning fully into that animated legacy. In a recent interview with Polygon, Mintz explained that choosing to animate his stand-up set came down to creative comfort, noting that he simply felt more at home as a cartoon than worrying about camera angles and wardrobe for a traditional live-action recording.
Alongside the launch of his special, Mintz reflected on his extensive time with the Belcher family by sharing his five favorite Tina-centric episodes. His selections highlight the evolution of the character, ranging from early milestones like her first kiss in the first-season classic Sheesh! Cab, Bob to the delightfully bizarre romances found in episodes like Beefsquatch, which featured guest star Nathan Fielder. Mintz also highlighted fan favorites like Tina and the Real Ghost, Topsy, and a heartfelt season thirteen outing that showcased a rare moment of vulnerability between Tina and her younger sister Louise.
For a generation of players and viewers who bounce fluidly between open-world streaming marathons, battle passes, and creator-led comedy on YouTube, seeing a veteran voice actor bridge the gap between traditional television and digital-first releases feels entirely natural. Mintz is proving that comedy specials do not need to stick to traditional stage setups to resonate with modern, internet-native audiences. Dan Mintz: Well Rounded Entertainer premieres on YouTube, giving fans a fresh way to experience his signature absurd one-liners.
