Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 Locks In October Release Date With a Brutal New Trailer

Netflix and Studio Trigger have announced an October 20, 2026 release date for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, releasing a brutal new trailer that highlights a brand-new cast in Night City.

Polygon reports that Netflix and Studio Trigger have officially set an October 20, 2026 release date for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, accompanied by a character-focused trailer that promises just as much emotional devastation as the first season. Set in the familiar dystopia of Night City, the ten-episode follow-up features an entirely new cast and a standalone narrative while keeping the distinct visual style that made the original adaptation a massive cultural hit.

The new footage introduces four central figures, including a young analog film enthusiast named Roman Carax, veteran edgerunner King who is battling severe cyberpsychosis, a vengeance-driven netrunner named D, and a hospitalized character named Talia Yang. According to the trailer, the story unfolds largely through the lens of Carax documenting the harrowing downfalls of those around him, leaning heavily into classic Cyberpunk themes of trauma, technology, and inevitable burnout.

Studio Trigger is returning to handle animation duties, with Kai Ikarashi stepping in to direct and returning showrunner Bartosz Sztybor overseeing the scripts. Following the massive success of the 2022 series, which managed to successfully revitalize player engagement for CD Projekt Red's RPG long after launch, this sequel has high expectations to meet when it drops on Netflix this fall.
