Cyberpunk 2077's New Update: Get Ready to Chill in Self-Driving Cars (But Hold Your Horses, Switch 2 Players!)

Cyberpunk 2077's 2.3 update lets you kick back and enjoy the sights of Night City in self-driving cars, but Switch 2 players will have to wait a bit longer for the robo-taxi revolution. It's all about immersion, baby!

Right, choombas, listen up! CD Projekt Red's just dropped a new update for Cyberpunk 2077 – version 2.3 – and it's all about kicking back and letting the machines do the work. According to Eurogamer, who broke the news, Night City's getting a serious upgrade in the autonomous vehicle department. Forget stressing about dodging rogue vehicles and crazed pedestrians; now you can just set your ride to AutoDrive and soak in the neon-drenched scenery.

But what's actually *in* this update? Well, for starters, we're getting four shiny new vehicles. We're talking the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, the Rayfield Caliburn "Mordred", the Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa, and the Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila. Each one sounds like it was named by a committee of hyperactive robots, but fair enough, they look slick. And the best part? All your existing rides and these new beauties will support the AutoDrive feature. Fancy a leisurely cruise with a cinematic camera angle? Now you can have it, mate.

Oh, and remember Delamain, the neurotic AI taxi? Well, after completing the "Don't Lose Your Mind" gig, you can summon a self-driving Delamain Cab straight from your vehicle menu. Imagine the conversations you could have! (Or maybe not, if you value your sanity.)

CD Projekt's also throwing in Rayfield's CrystalCoat (and a busted-up version for the more budget-conscious among us). Perfect for showing off your ride's… uh… *unique* paint job in Photo Mode. And speaking of Photo Mode, get this: they've added 27 new NPCs to spawn, the ability to change outfits while in the mode (finally!), new Look-At Camera options, depth of field tweaks, and a whole host of stickers, frames, and overlays. It's basically Instagram for psychopaths.

The update also packs the usual fixes and enhancements, including Variable Refresh Rate support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, plus support for AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation, Intel XeSS 2.0, and HDR10+ Gaming on PC. So, performance boosts all around! (Hopefully… fingers crossed.)

Now, for the bad news: if you're holding out for the Switch 2 version (assuming it exists!), you'll have to wait a little longer. The 2.3 update is hitting most platforms tomorrow, July 17th, but the Switch 2 is getting it "at a later date." Bummer.

So, there you have it. A chance to embrace your inner tourist in Night City, all thanks to the wonders of self-driving technology. Just try not to get *too* relaxed; this is still Cyberpunk, after all. Things are always bound to go sideways, right?
