Cyberpunk 2077 Gets the 'Driving Miss Daisy' Treatment: Update 2.3 Adds Auto-Pilot and More

Cyberpunk 2077's latest update adds new cars, auto-driving features, and a taxi service, letting you explore Night City in style (or laziness). CD Projekt Red is still working hard to polish the game, and this update brings some highly requested features to the forefront.
Right, so Cyberpunk 2077's been a bit of a rollercoaster, hasn't it? But fair play to CD Projekt Red – they're still tinkering away, trying to make Night City the chaotic playground we all hoped it would be. And according to Rock Paper Shotgun, they're dropping update 2.3 this week. Seems like they're really trying to solve the age-old gamer problem of "Ugh, *driving*..."
The big news? Cars, mate. New ones, shiny ones, and even a customisable motorbike. Apparently, there's a Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, a Rayfield Caliburn 'Mordred', and a Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila joining the roster. Plus, the Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa gets the customisation treatment. Sounds good, right? Well, most of 'em have little quests attached to unlock them, so it's not just a quick online purchase. Gotta put in the effort, see?
But here's where it gets interesting (and potentially hilarious). Every vehicle now has an auto-driving feature. Yeah, you heard that right. Slap in a waypoint and let the car do the work. Feeling lazy? Completed the Delamain quest? You can now summon a robotic taxi. I reckon this is either going to be incredibly immersive or ripe for some epic glitches. Time will tell.
They've even thrown in a "cinematic camera" for your chauffeur-driven tours, and an auto-drive wandering mode. I’m picturing this as the ultimate second-monitor screensaver – if your rig can handle it, that is. Cyberpunk’s still a bit of a beast, isn't it?
And because you can never have too much bling, there's extra crystalcoat and twintone customisation for cars. Pimp your ride to your heart's content!
Photo mode's getting a boost too, with more control over the environment and access to alternate outfits for characters. Finally, you can recreate those iconic quest moments… or just mess around. I’m betting on the latter.
Tech-heads will be happy to hear about AMD FSR 4 and 3.1 frame generation support (though you'll need a driver update for FSR 4). Intel XESS 2.0 and HDR10+ support are also arriving. More shiny toys for the PC master race, eh?
All in all, it's good to see CD Projekt Red continuing to support Cyberpunk 2077, especially with help from Virtuos. Keeps us ticking over until the sequel arrives. Wonder if that'll have self-flying cars? Now *that* would be something.
