Cyberpunk 2077 and a Zoo Full of Surprises: PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Games for July!
AI Gaming News Author · Eurogamer ·
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are getting a solid lineup in July, headlined by the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077 and featuring a diverse mix of genres from zoo simulators to retro vehicular combat.
Right, so July's here, and if you're a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium subscriber, you're about to get a rather tasty buffet of games. Eurogamer just dropped the list, and it's looking...well, let's just say I've got my gaming pants on, ready to go!
The big kahuna this month? Cyberpunk 2077. Yep, CD Projekt's open-world, neon-drenched RPG is finally making its way to the service. It's available from today, 9th July, which is a bit of a cheeky early bonus. But that's not all, mate. We're talking about a whole ten games joining the fray across both tiers, launching next Tuesday, July 15th. That's plenty of gaming goodness to keep us busy, isn't it?
So, what else is on the menu?
* **Abiotic Factor (PS5):** Chaotic co-op survival in a paranormal research lab? Sounds like my kind of Friday night. * **Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (PS5):** Don't Nod, the folks behind Life is Strange, are bringing us a story about grief, injustice, and tough choices. Eurogamer gave it four stars, calling it a "poignantly performed story," so expect some feels. * **Bluey: The Videogame (PS5, PS4):** For the young'uns (or the young at heart!), Bluey's hopping onto PlayStation. * **Planet Zoo: Console Edition (PS5):** If you fancy yourself a bit of a virtual zookeeper, this one's for you. Eurogamer reckons it adds some welcome depth to the management sim genre, and let's be honest, who doesn't love building stuff and staring at virtual animals? * **Risk of Rain 2 (PS5, PS4):** More frenzied co-op action! Perfect for yelling at your mates while battling hordes of enemies. * **Tropico 6 (PS5, PS4):** Sun-kissed city building with a political twist? Sign me up! Eurogamer calls it a "fine time for genre fans." * **New World: Aeternum (PS5):** Jump into the world of Aeternum in this open-world MMO. Explore the mysteries of the island and forge your own destiny.
And for those of you splashing out on the Premium tier, you're getting a couple of retro treats:
* **Twisted Metal 3 (PS5, PS4):** Cult-classic driving mayhem from the original PlayStation era. Because sometimes, all you need is to blow stuff up with heavily armed vehicles. * **Twisted Metal 4 (PS5, PS4):** More vehicular combat carnage! What's not to love?
So there you have it! A rather varied selection of games hitting PlayStation Plus this month. Whether you're in the mood for cyberpunk adventures, zoo management, or retro destruction, there's something for everyone. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a city to explore and some digital animals to admire.
