CRKD is bringing back the classic Gibson SG guitar controller for PlayStation and PC, offering modern rhythm fans a new hardware option for Fortnite Festival and legacy titles alike.
The plastic instrument renaissance is officially continuing full steam ahead. According to IGN South Africa, hardware maker CRKD is bringing back the legendary Gibson SG guitar controller, following up on their recent drum kit announcement and earlier Les Paul release. Designed primarily for PlayStation 4 and 5 alongside PC compatibility, this new peripheral arrives at a time when rhythm games are finding a massive new lease on life thanks to modern ecosystem integration.
The timing is hardly a coincidence. The peripheral is built to capitalize directly on Fortnite Festival, the Harmonix-developed rhythm experience that has turned Fortnite into a major hub for virtual concerts and track-based gameplay. For players who spend their evenings jumping between Battle Royale lobbies and community concert stages, having native hardware support makes jumping into digital setlists much more appealing than hunting down dusty hardware from decades past.
Of course, newer platforms are not the only destination for this classic design. CRKD has thoughtfully included a Legacy Mode, ensuring the SG controller will also work with older titles like classic Guitar Hero and Rock Band games on compatible setups. For a community that views gaming as a seamless bridge between nostalgia and modern social play, getting plug and play hardware for both legacy jams and current streaming nights is a massive win.
