Remedy Entertainment has announced Control Resonant for a 2026 release, starring Dylan Faden in a reality-warping, cosmic-horror Manhattan sandbox across current-gen platforms.
Remedy Entertainment is officially pulling the curtain back on the next chapter of its interconnected supernatural universe, and the sequel formerly known as Control 2 now has a proper title and a release window. According to a report by Victoria Phillips Kennedy over at Eurogamer, Control Resonant is scheduled to launch in 2026, shifting its primary focus from Jesse Faden to her brother, Dylan. Fresh out of confinement by the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan finds himself deployed into a reality-warping, kaleidoscopic version of Manhattan overrun by cosmic entities.
Unlike Jesse and her trusty Service Weapon, Dylan brings a massive, shapeshifting melee tool called the Aberrant to the fight, alongside a brand-new suite of paranatural abilities. Creative director Mikael Kasurinen notes that the studio is expanding the scale of combat, exploration, and storytelling far beyond previous titles, aiming for a wilder and more ambitious playground. Even better for players who might have missed out on the original game or the Alan Wake crossover expansions, Remedy is designing this entry to be entirely accessible to newcomers while still satisfying longtime lore hunters.
Set to land on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Mac, the sequel arrives at an interesting transitional moment for the studio following recent leadership changes and the mixed commercial performance of the FBC: Firebreak spin-off. If Remedy can deliver another masterclass in environmental storytelling and surreal atmosphere while taking full advantage of modern hardware, 2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for single-player action fans.
