Clear Your Queue: The Best Xbox Game Pass Picks for a Three-Day Weekend

Polygon's weekend Xbox Game Pass recommendations highlight a trio of diverse titles to check out during your next break, featuring GTA 5, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Tales of Kenzera: Zau.

If you have a little extra downtime this weekend, subscription libraries like Xbox Game Pass remain the easiest way to spin up a new experience without overthinking it. Polygon recently rounded up a few standout recommendations for players looking to make the most of a long weekend, starting with a ticking clock on a modern classic. Rockstar's perennial powerhouse, Grand Theft Auto 5, is once again cycling out of the Game Pass catalog. If you somehow have not experienced Los Santos yet, or want a quick refresher before the eventual arrival of GTA 6 later this year, this is your cue to jump in before it leaves the service.

For those craving a different kind of open world, Batman: Arkham Knight still sets the gold standard for superhero action. Even with its polarizing vehicle sections, gliding through the rain-slicked rooftops of Gotham and stringing together fluid, rhythmic melee combat holds up remarkably well. With fans still waiting patiently for the next major Lego Batman installment and recent DC gaming output hitting a few bumps, Rocksteady's trilogy closer remains a mandatory playthrough for anyone wanting to feel like the Dark Knight.

If you prefer something tighter and more narrative-driven, Surgent Studios' Tales of Kenzera: Zau offers an unforgettable Metroidvania journey that can easily be finished over a long weekend. Drawing from founder Abubakar Salim's personal experiences with grief, the game blends a poignant story rooted in Bantu mythology with sun and moon inspired combat mechanics. Clocking in at around ten hours, it delivers a complete, emotionally resonant adventure without demanding a massive hundred-hour time sink.
