Polygon reports that the Epic Games Store is offering Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness for free until January 22, giving players a chance to experience the stealth series ahead of the February release of Styx: Blades of Greed.
PC players looking for a new weekend obsession have a solid opportunity to dive into a cult classic stealth series without spending a dime. As reported by Polygon, the Epic Games Store is currently offering the first two entries in the Styx franchise for free. Players can claim both Styx: Master of Shadows and its sequel, Styx: Shards of Darkness, to keep in their libraries before the promotion ends on January 22 at 11 a.m. EST.
The timing is no accident. Developer Cyanide Studio and publisher Nacon are setting the stage for the upcoming release of the third installment, Styx: Blades of Greed, which launches next month on February 19. For anyone who missed these titles during their initial runs, this giveaway offers a low-risk entry point into a notoriously challenging corner of the stealth genre.
Master of Shadows introduces players to the titular two-century-old goblin protagonist as he navigates the towering verticality of the Tower of Akenash using hardcore infiltration tactics. Shards of Darkness cranks up the visual fidelity with Unreal Engine upgrades and introduces a drop-in co-op mode where a second player can assist by controlling a clone of Styx. Head over to the Epic Games Store launcher to lock them in before the deadline.
