Capcom's Recent Digital Sales Hint at a Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake Reveal
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
Recent deep discounts on recent Resident Evil titles across digital storefronts have fans and industry insiders speculating that Capcom is gearing up to announce a Code: Veronica remake at Summer Game Fest.
Capcom might have accidentally tipped its hand regarding the next major entry in its survival horror lineup. According to a recent report by Game Rant, fans tracking store discounts and promotional patterns across PC and consoles believe a Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake is just around the corner. The speculation gained serious traction as major franchise sales went live across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, a classic timing strategy Capcom frequently employs right before dropping a massive announcement.
The centerpiece of the theory involves an aggressive price cut on the Resident Evil 4 remake, which dropped to an all-time low of 75 percent off on PC. Prominent community insider Dusk Golem pointed out that slashing the price of the most recent remake immediately before the Summer Game Fest window follows Capcom's traditional playbook for building momentum. With the community eager for Code: Veronica to receive the modern RE Engine treatment alongside its predecessors, the timing of these digital storefront markdowns points straight toward an impending reveal.
For a community that has spent years advocating for Claire Redfield's classic adventure to get brought up to modern standards, this latest pricing shift feels like the smoke before the fire. Most players have already worked their way through recent franchise additions like Resident Evil Requiem, meaning the timing is ideal for Capcom to capture our attention with a legacy revival. We will be watching the upcoming showcase streams closely to see if the marketplace hints turn into a real confirmation.
