Capcom Finally Scraps Paid Character Editing in Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom is removing paid character edit vouchers in Monster Hunter Wilds, making hunter and Palico customization completely free ahead of next year's expansion.
Monster Hunter Wilds is about to drop one of its most unpopular monetization hurdles. As reported by Eurogamer, Capcom is officially retiring the divisive Edit Vouchers, meaning players will soon be able to tweak the appearance of their hunters and Palico companions without pulling out their wallets. Starting on December 3, the storefront will stop selling these tokens, and players will receive ten free vouchers for both hunters and feline sidekicks to keep things flexible until the major expansion arrives next year.
The real win hits when Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance launches sometime next year. At that point, unlimited character and Palico editing becomes completely free for everyone, regardless of whether you pick up the expansion. Anyone who previously spent real money on these vouchers will miss out on cash refunds, but Capcom is offering a Special Thank-You Pendant Set featuring the Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar charms as a peace offering starting December 3.
This quality-of-life shift arrives at an important time for the game. While Wilds launched to massive numbers, it has faced an uphill battle over the past year due to technical hurdles on PC and stiff competition from its predecessor, World. Capcom is clearly trying to build goodwill alongside upcoming additions like a Switch 2 port and price adjustments. Removing friction from basic player expression is a smart step toward keeping the community engaged and happy as the game prepares for its next major phase.
