Capcom has deployed a major update for Dragon's Dogma 2, adding unlimited fast travel, improved Pawn mechanics, and quality of life fixes ahead of the upcoming Dark Arisen expansion and Switch 2 port.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is finally getting the sweeping quality of life updates that the community has been asking for since launch. Capcom is rolling out a comprehensive two part roadmap ahead of the upcoming Dark Arisen expansion and the newly announced Nintendo Switch 2 port. According to details covered by Fran Ruiz at Eurogamer, Title Update 3.1 is already live and tackles some of the most persistent community complaints about travel and navigation.
The initial update introduces the highly requested Eternal Ferrystone for unlimited fast travel, places additional permanent Portcrystals across key locations, and vastly improves the reliability and clarity of oxcart transit. Companion Pawns are also receiving major tune ups, including smarter pathing, clearer Dragonsplague indicators on status screens, and a new Guardian specialization to help prevent roadside ambushes. For a game that built its reputation on deliberate friction and sparse convenience features, these changes mark a noticeable shift toward broader accessibility.
Looking ahead to August, Capcom plans to roll out even more transformative additions, including the ability to cure Dragonsplague, proper save slots, and deeper equipment filtering tools. While purists might debate whether smoothing out these rough edges diminishes the unique identity of the original release, these updates position the game in a much healthier place for its upcoming platform expansion. Players across PC, current gen consoles, and Nintendo's upcoming hardware will soon experience a vastly more polished adventure.
