Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta Receives Major Content Drop and Audio Adjustments

Infinity Ward is actively updating the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta with new maps, game modes, and audio adjustments based on early player feedback.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 early access beta is in full swing, and Infinity Ward is already rolling out substantial updates based on player feedback ahead of the game's October launch. Running through August 25, the current early access period gives cross-platform players a chance to test out core systems before the open beta arrives on August 28 to introduce the Zodiac Warzone Resurgence map and Ground War modes.

Responding quickly to community input from day one, developers dropped a significant patch introducing the new 6v6 map Cachette, set around an abandoned warehouse near a French rail system. The update also brings in a fresh game mode called Inflation, where players hunt down high-value target operators to collect and secure cash through overtime multipliers. Alongside these additions, quality of life upgrades like daily challenge rerolls and map voting have officially gone live.

Audio balance has also been a major talking point for players navigating the beta tests, prompting Infinity Ward to adjust enemy footstep and gear audio. The latest patch reduces both the overall volume and the travel distance of movement sounds to prevent audio clutter during intense firefights. More updates are already scheduled for the beta period, including another new map named Lithium and the upcoming addition of the 3v3 Gunfight mode.
