Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 2 is introducing a massive content drop featuring nine new maps, seven new weapons, and the Titanfall-inspired Lockshot smart pistol, alongside major updates for Endgame, Zombies, and Warzone.
Treyarch is keeping up a heavy momentum of post-launch support with the upcoming arrival of Season 2 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. According to a recent report by Polygon, the massive update brings an extensive suite of new content split across the initial launch and the mid-season Reloaded update. Players can expect nine new multiplayer maps, including four returning fan-favorite arenas from past Black Ops titles, alongside seven new modes and playlists, and seven fresh weapons.
One of the most talked-about additions is a nod to sci-fi shooter history. The infamous auto-targeting concept popularized by the Titanfall series is making its way into Call of Duty as the Lockshot scorestreak. Requiring a 450 score to deploy, this smart pistol allows players to lock onto multiple targets and eliminate them in quick succession with a single pull of the trigger. When paired with overclock abilities that speed up the lock-on time or target additional foes, it shapes up to be a potent addition to the multiplayer sandbox.
The update extends far beyond standard multiplayer matches. In Endgame, players will tackle new high-difficulty Guild Strikes featuring a fresh Strike Boss and higher-tier rewards alongside the critical damage-focused Eagle Eye skill track. Meanwhile, Zombies fans are heading off-world to an ancient underground Martian temple for the mode's fourth survival map, and Warzone is treating Rebirth Island to a full winter makeover complete with snow-covered terrain, a new point of interest, and high-stakes weather events like the Snowstorm Gas.
