Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 have been unexpectedly shadow dropped on PS4 and PS5, launching a day early with a fifty percent launch discount and fresh Trophy support.
PlayStation players just received a major dose of nostalgia with a surprise release. According to Game Rant, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 have officially been shadow dropped on PS4 and PS5. Fans who were expecting a standard Friday rollout woke up to find both classic titles live on the PlayStation Store a day early.
Beyond the surprise availability, the release comes with a welcome discount. Both games and their respective DLC packs are currently marked down by fifty percent for a limited time. Trophy hunters can also dive right back into the grind, as updated PlayStation Network Trophy lists went live alongside the games to give players new milestones to chase on modern hardware.
This unexpected drop hits at a busy time for the franchise, with summer events stacking up and upcoming seasonal content for newer titles on the horizon. For the community, however, the focus is squarely on revisiting the golden era of multiplayer lobbies and classic zombies maps without needing to dust off older consoles.
