Bruce Straley is Finally Ready to Show Off His New Game at The Game Awards

Wildflower Interactive, led by The Last of Us co-creator Bruce Straley, will debut its first game during The Game Awards with a short teaser hinting at a cel-shaded world.

Nearly a decade after leaving his legendary run at Naughty Dog, industry veteran Bruce Straley is finally ready to pull the curtain back on his next project. Wildflower Interactive, the independent studio Straley founded after stepping away from the studio behind The Last of Us and Uncharted, will debut its first title during The Game Awards. Showrunner Geoff Keighley shared a brief 30-second teaser on social media alongside the studio, giving players a very first glimpse of what the team has been building in their fully remote work environment.

The short teaser offers an artistic, cel-shaded look at a quiet forest featuring a bird resting on a wooden sign, accompanied by atmospheric wind and wildlife sounds. A voice off-screen calls out a quick encouraging prompt before the bird takes flight and the screen cuts to black. While the clip leaves the actual genre, title, and gameplay systems completely under wraps, the industry pedigree attached to the project makes it one of the most anticipated reveals of the upcoming broadcast.

Straley spent 17 years at Naughty Dog, serving as the co-creator of The Last of Us alongside Neil Druckmann and directing critical masterpieces like Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 4. When he formed Wildflower Interactive in 2022, he emphasized a collaborative and inclusive culture for the independent team. Players tuning in via Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok will get to see the final reveal when the broadcast airs on December 11, giving the community a fresh single-player experience to look forward to.
