Survival RPGs thrive on tension, resource management, and high-stakes combat, but developers constantly look for fresh hooks to stand out in a crowded market. Enter Potion Dealer, an upcoming dark fantasy survival RPG developed by Spectre17 that puts a pragmatic twist on the genre. Instead of playing a standard hero, you step into the shoes of someone plying a very dangerous trade in a grim, unforgiving world. The official gameplay trailer, recently showcased by IGN South Africa, offers a compelling look at how brewing and combat intertwine.
The newly released footage highlights a grim aesthetic where players must gather volatile ingredients, craft powerful concoctions, and manage their operations while surviving harsh wilderness threats. In a landscape saturated with generic survival titles, focusing on the literal alchemy of staying alive adds a layer of strategy that rewards preparation and cunning. Whether you are mixing remedies to survive a brutal encounter or trading your creations to navigate dangerous factions, the gameplay loop leans heavily into player choice and tactical depth.
Dark fantasy worlds resonate deeply with modern players who enjoy high-difficulty challenges and intricate lore, and Potion Dealer clearly aims to tap into that exact audience. As survival crafting games continue to dominate streaming platforms and community discussions, the execution of crafting mechanics will make or break this release. Keep an eye on how Spectre17 develops these systems leading up launch, and check out the full gameplay trailer over at IGN South Africa.
