Paramount Pictures has just dropped the official featurette for Heart of the Beast, an upcoming action drama directed by David Ayer. The film follows Special Forces officer James Belmont, played by Brad Pitt, and his combat dog Odin as they fight to survive a harrowing plane crash deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Alongside Pitt, the survival thriller stars J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe, bringing a gritty, character-driven survival story to the big screen.
While the project is a traditional theatrical release scheduled to hit cinemas on September 25, stories blending high-stakes survival with deep canine companionship frequently capture the imagination of the gaming community. Gamers familiar with intense companion-driven narratives will likely find plenty of thematic crossover here, especially given director David Ayer's history of handling gritty, high-octane action.
As reported by IGN South Africa, the featurette highlights the visceral tension of the Alaskan elements and the core dynamic between Belmont and his four-legged partner. Whether you are taking a break from your current co-op rotation or looking for weekend cinema plans, this one looks set to deliver a heavy dose of tension when it arrives in theaters later this month.
