Bloody Hell, Another Pokemon TCG Set Leak? Mega Evolutions Are Back, Mate!
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
The *Phantasmal Flames* Pokemon TCG set has been leaked, bringing Mega Evolutions back into the spotlight – if you can actually find them amidst the ongoing card shortages. Will this set reignite the TCG craze, or just fuel the fire of frustration?
Right, so it seems someone at The Pokemon Company needs a lesson in digital security, because the internet's buzzing about a leak for the *Phantasmal Flames* Pokemon TCG set. According to *Game Rant*, the supposed release date is November 14, 2025. A whole year away! Blimey, that's a long time to wait, isn't it?
Now, Mega Evolutions, eh? Remember those? Introduced back in Gen 6, they were all the rage for a while. Seems like The Pokemon Company are banking on nostalgia, or maybe just trying to cash in on the current TCG craze. Either way, *Phantasmal Flames* will be the second English set to feature these hulked-out versions of your favorite pocket monsters. The first is due in September (based on the Japanese *Mega Brave* and *Mega Symphona* sets). Good luck actually finding them, though – The Pokemon Company's already warned about limited pre-release kits due to ongoing product shortages.
*Game Rant* reckons *Phantasmal Flames* will likely be based on Japan's *Mega Gengar EX* and *Mega Diancie EX* decks, along with *Inferno X*, which apparently showcases Mega Charizard EX. I mean, who *doesn't* love a souped-up Charizard? Pre-release events are supposedly kicking off from November 1st to 9th. Expect a feeding frenzy, folks.
It's all a bit reminiscent of the recent chaos surrounding other sets. Remember *Black Bolt* and *White Flare*? Those sets were a massive hit, especially those secret rare cards with the fancy illustrations. Some of those are going for silly money, apparently. Someone spotted a monochrome Victini going for $500! I mean, fair dinkum, that's enough to buy a decent graphics card.
For those of you who prefer the digital side of things, *Pokemon TCG Pocket* is getting new content as well. *Wisdom of Sea and Sky* is launching on July 30th, and there's a Blissy EX Drop Event and Marill/Weavile Wonder Pick Event coming up in August. So, something for everyone, I suppose.
But here's the thing: even with all this new content, are we just going to see more of the same old problems? Scalpers snapping up everything, stores struggling to keep stock, and genuine fans missing out? Let's hope The Pokemon Company has learned a lesson or two. Because, while Mega Evolutions are cool and all, a game is only as good as its accessibility.
So, keep your eyes peeled, mate. And maybe start camping outside your local game shop now. Just in case.
