Bloober Team has announced Saw: Genesis, an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game set in 1920s England. Developed by Broken Mirror Games and Anshar Studios, the title features three players acting as the Accused trying to survive against a fourth player acting as the Judge. A closed alpha is planned ahead of a Fall 2026 early access release on Steam.
The Saw franchise is heading into the multiplayer space with the announcement of Saw: Genesis, revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026. Published by Bloober Team and developed by their co-development studio Broken Mirror Games in association with Anshar Studios, the title takes the iconic horror property into asymmetrical territory. Instead of following the single player survival horror formula of the 2009 and 2010 adaptations, this new project pits three players against one in a high stakes game of survival and execution.
In Saw: Genesis, three participants take on the role of the Accused, while a fourth player steps into the shoes of the Judge. The Judge's primary objective is to hunt down and eliminate the Accused using classic, trap heavy mechanics inspired by the films. Setting the game apart from the cinematic timeline, the narrative jumps back to 1920s England, nearly a century before John Kramer took up the mantle. The new antagonist is a World War I veteran scarred by trauma, which should give the team plenty of room to craft a retro inspired, brutal aesthetic.
For players looking to get their hands on the game early, a closed alpha is currently accepting sign ups through the official website, with an early access launch planned for PC via Steam in Fall 2026.
