Blimey! Xbox's Forza Horizon 5 is *Winning* on PlayStation? What's Next, Cats and Dogs Living Together?

Forza Horizon 5, an Xbox exclusive, is now the best-selling game on PS5 in 2025, marking a significant shift in platform exclusivity and leaving us all wondering what's next in this crazy gaming saga.
Right, so Game Rant's John Bonelli just dropped a bombshell: Forza Horizon 5, that ridiculously fun open-world racer that Xbox fans have been hogging since 2021, is now the best-selling game on PS5 *so far* this year. I know, I know, it sounds like a fever dream, doesn't it? Feels a bit like someone spiked the Nuka-Cola at the gaming convention.
Apparently, after Xbox started dipping their toes in the multi-platform pool last year with titles like Grounded and Sea of Thieves, they decided to cannonball in headfirst. Indiana Jones made the leap, and now Forza's tearing up the tarmac on Sony's turf. And get this, it's not just *on* PS5, it's outselling everything else, including Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds. Bonkers, I tell you!
Now, I'm not saying the world's gone completely mad, but it's getting there. Forza Horizon 5 selling gangbusters on PS5 is a seismic shift. It's like finding out your gran can shred a guitar solo better than Hendrix. Sure, Sony's got Death Stranding 2, and the upcoming Ghost of Yotei looks promising, but for now, Forza reigns supreme. And let's not forget the yearly behemoths like Call of Duty and EA Sports FC, they'll be vying for the top spot soon enough, I reckon.
Xbox isn't done either. Gears of War: Reloaded and The Outer Worlds 2 are both heading to PS5. It's all getting a bit cozy between these two, isn't it? Feels like that awkward moment at a party when your rivals suddenly become your best mates. (Or maybe frenemies...time will tell.)
For those PS5 owners who've somehow managed to resist the allure of Forza Horizon 5 (seriously, what have you been playing?), there's a 25% discount going on right now. Go on, treat yourself. You might just find yourself wondering why you didn't make the jump sooner.
Will Forza stay on top? It's a tough call. But one thing's for sure: the gaming landscape is changing, and these platform exclusives are becoming less exclusive by the day. What does this mean for the future? More games for everyone, hopefully! And that's a future I can get behind. (Just don't expect me to give up my tea for coffee anytime soon.)
So there you have it. Xbox giveth, and PlayStation receiveth...massive sales numbers. Who saw that coming? Fair dinkum!
