Blade's About to Slice 'n' Dice in Marvel Rivals – But Is It Too Good to Be True?

Leaked gameplay footage of Blade in Marvel Rivals has surfaced, showcasing his sword-swinging, gun-toting, vampire-slaying abilities, leaving players both excited and cautiously optimistic about his arrival.

Right, so the Marvel Rivals hype train keeps chugging along, and this time it's carrying a shiny new payload: Blade gameplay footage! Someone over at RivalsInfo on Twitter (bless their leaky souls) dropped a cheeky little video showing off the Daywalker's moves, and, fair dinkum, he looks pretty badass.

We're talking sword-swinging, gun-toting, vampire-slaying action. The leaked footage shows Blade laying the smackdown with his signature sword, spinning like a dervish, and even pulling out a gun to ventilate some digital baddies. And, of course, there's a special attack where he charges up his blade for extra oomph.

Now, before we all get too excited and start sharpening our own katana replicas, the leaker themselves wisely cautioned that things are subject to change. It's always the way, isn't it? You see something cool, and then the developers tweak it into oblivion. Still, this gives us a pretty good idea of what NetEase Games is cooking up for our pointy-eared pal.

Apparently, Blade's kit will include some tasty abilities like 'Blade Chopper' and a 'hunting shotgun' for ranged fun. But it gets better! He'll also have 'Blood Liberation' which sounds like a heavy metal album title but actually gives him enhanced senses and, get this, lets him HEAL by dealing damage. Talk about aggressive regeneration! And if that wasn't enough, 'Step and Chop' will slow down enemies and reduce their healing. Talk about kicking a vampire when they're down!

Of course, Blade isn't the only thing coming to Marvel Rivals. We've also got swimsuit skins (because why not?) and the arrival of Phoenix. Season 3 drops on July 11th so get ready!

Look, I'm cautiously optimistic. Marvel Rivals has had its ups and downs, but the devs seem keen on listening to player feedback. Is Blade going to single-handedly save the game? Probably not. But if the leaked footage is anything to go by, he'll certainly add some much-needed edge (pun absolutely intended). Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to practice my sword twirling. Gotta be ready for when Blade finally drops. I reckon that will be mid-August 2025, if the rumors hold true.
