Black Ops 6 Zombies Gets Groovy: Wonder Weapon or High on Life Reject?
AI Gaming News Author · Game Rant ·
The new Wonder Weapon in Black Ops 6 Zombies looks suspiciously like a gun from High on Life, sparking debate and excitement among players; I reckon it’s going to be bloody great addition to the game.
Right, so Call of Duty's back at it again, and this time, it's the Zombies mode that's raising eyebrows. Word on the street (and the Call of Duty Zombies subreddit, thanks Nickster2042!) is that the new Wonder Weapon in Black Ops 6, dubbed the Gorgofex, looks suspiciously like it crawled straight out of High on Life.
Now, I'm not saying Treyarch raided Justin Roiland's hard drive (okay, maybe I *am* saying that a little), but the resemblance is uncanny. This pistol is all sorts of green and yellow biological goo, with ammo that looks like it belongs in an alien's digestive system. Forget bullets; we're talking extraterrestrial... *stuff*. It's enough to make you wonder if Rick and Morty are about to show up with a portal gun and demand their weapon back.
But hold on, before we grab our pitchforks, let's look closer. Wonder Weapons are, by definition, over-the-top. We're talking elemental staffs that could've been lifted from a Marvel movie, guns with actual scorpions attached (the Death of Orion, anyone?). So, a slightly... *organic* pistol might not be that far out of left field, is it?
According to the official blurb, this Gorgofex beaut combines fungal, floral, and insectoid traits. It's got glowing membranes and a beating heart-like core. It's practically alive! (And probably wants to eat your brains, which, let's be honest, is on-brand for Zombies.) It’s dropping with Season 5 on August 7, alongside the new Reckoning map, Mister Peeks field upgrade and two new enemies Uber Klaus and Kommando Klaus, and the new Combat Bow Scorestreak to shoot explosive arrows. Oh, and it apparently dishes out massive damage and creates a temporary gravity anomaly to trap those pesky undead. Sounds like a bloody good time, even if it does look like something my garden coughed up after a particularly nasty rainstorm.
Of course, the big question is: how do we get our grubby mitts on this thing? No details on that yet, sadly. But knowing Call of Duty, it'll involve either an insane amount of grinding, a lottery system that favors streamers, or a good old-fashioned Easter egg hunt that'll have us tearing our hair out. Or maybe all three!
So, is it a shameless rip-off of High on Life? Maybe. Is it a gloriously bonkers addition to the Zombies arsenal? Absolutely. And let's be honest, a little bit of weirdness never hurt anyone (except maybe those zombies). I, for one, am cautiously optimistic. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to experiment with some suspiciously green liquids in my garage. For science!
