Bethesda Issues Save Warning for Upcoming Fallout 4 Creations Update

Bethesda is urging Fallout 4 players to back up their mod load orders before a major Creations update drops, bringing massive file size limits and cross-platform improvements.
Bethesda has issued an official warning to Fallout 4 players ahead of an upcoming update focused heavily on Creation improvements. Because the patch targets how custom content and community mods are handled, the studio is strongly recommending that players log in and manually save their load order before downloading the files. This precaution ensures that extensive mod lists and custom save files remain stable once the update goes live.
At the core of the new patch is a massive expansion to the game's official modding infrastructure. Bethesda is raising the BA2 archive limit from 256 to 1024, giving creators and players significantly more room for large mod collections. The update also introduces long-awaited archive support for PlayStation and allows for mod uploads up to 2GB in size on Xbox, bringing console modding closer to the flexibility long enjoyed on PC.
While official single-player content for the franchise has slowed down outside of Fallout 76 updates and the ongoing momentum from the television adaptation, the modding community continues to keep the wasteland vibrant. Major projects like total conversion mods rely heavily on a stable game client. By backing up load orders now, players can safely tap into these technical improvements without risking their current playthroughs.
