Donkey Crew's survival RPG Bellwright is expanding with its largest update yet, introducing the Halmare Isles map, a new faction loyalty system, caravans, and base building upgrades.
Survival RPG Bellwright is celebrating more than a year and a half in Early Access with its largest expansion to date. Developed by Donkey Crew, the Maiden Voyage update introduces the Halmare Isles, a completely new map that unlocks once players finish the main quests in Karvenia and build a functioning dock. This new region does more than just expand the physical play space. It continues the game narrative with fresh missions, branching progression lines, and unique loot that responds directly to player choices.
The update also shakes up the core gameplay loop by introducing three distinct factions to the world. Players must navigate a new loyalty system where they can play the field or pledge allegiance to a single group, unlocking faction specific armor sets along the way. To make managing multi region empires easier, Donkey Crew added a trade and caravan system for moving resources between outposts. New base building options like defensive camp walls, a shipyard for map to map fast travel, and an overhauled character creator round out the major additions.
Veterans and newcomers alike will find plenty of reasons to dive in. Even the original Karvenia map is receiving attention, with new wildlife like foxes and bears populating the early areas. The team also implemented full controller support, making the survival experience much more accessible across different setups. As survival games continue to thrive as long term community hubs, large scale content drops like this keep player bases engaged. You can check out the full details over at Polygon.
