Battlefield 6 Season 2 kicks off on February 17, bringing back the fan favorite Little Bird helicopter alongside a massive roadmap featuring new maps, gas mechanics, night operations, and dirt bikes.
Battlefield Studios is leaning hard into fan nostalgia and community feedback as it outlines the roadmap for Battlefield 6 Season 2. When the game launched as a spiritual successor to fan favorite entries like Battlefield 3 and 4, players immediately noticed one major absence in the vehicle roster. That gap is finally closing on February 17 when the iconic AH-6 Little Bird helicopter makes its official return to regular rotation across multiple maps, giving skilled pilots a chance to recreate their favorite high flying chaos. Originally relegated to a brief stint in Portal mode at launch, the nimble aircraft is ready to shake up standard matches.
The upcoming season, titled Extreme Measures, is split into distinct phases that will roll out fresh content over the coming months. Kicking things off alongside the Little Bird is Contaminated, a brand new map set around a German mountain airbase that channels the classic scale of historic Battlefield battlefields. Players will also have to contend with the VL-7 Strike limited time mode, which introduces hallucinogenic gas hazards that force squads to strategically equip gas masks. Four new weapons, two gadgets, and fresh Redsec modes round out the initial drop, setting a busy pace for competitive lobbies.
The update continues to evolve on March 17 with the Nightfall phase, introducing Hagental Base and its claustrophobic subterranean structures for intense close quarters skirmishes. This phase leans heavily into tactical play with night vision gear, weapon flashlights, and a remixed dark version of the map, alongside the addition of dirt bikes for the entire game to fuel creator clip channels. Things culminate on April 14 with the Hunter/Prey phase and Operation Augur, a multi map operation inspired by Battlefield 1 that pits NATO forces against underground objectives.
