IGN South Africa revealed the world premiere trailer for Bad Magpie at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, featuring a one-winged bird on a quest sparked by a fallen star.
The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 delivered plenty of blockbuster aspirations, but one of the most charming surprises of the broadcast came from an unexpected feathered protagonist. IGN South Africa recently debuted the world premiere trailer for Bad Magpie, an upcoming adventure that trades traditional human heroes for a very determined bird with a serious penchant for mischief.
Players step into the feathers of a magpie navigating a tough hand. Operating with only a single wing and separated from its flock, our avian anti-hero becomes fixated on a mysterious fallen star, setting off a journey that promises platforming challenges, creative exploration, and plenty of trouble. It is a refreshing concept in a landscape often dominated by gritty realism and endless sequels.
While release details and platform specifics are still rolling out, the initial footage suggests a title worth keeping on your radar alongside the bigger seasonal drops. For players who love unique narrative hooks and quirky protagonist-driven adventures, this one might just steal the show. Be sure to check out the original coverage over at IGN South Africa for the full trailer breakdown.
