Gameplay Group International has detailed Princess Azula's firebending moveset for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. The 2D fighter launches on July 2 for $29.99 across multiple platforms, offering a competitive departure from past franchise adaptations.
Developer Gameplay Group International has released a detailed look at Princess Azula's moveset for the upcoming Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. Known for her lethal precision and signature blue flames, Azula's inclusion highlights the roster's mechanical depth. As reported by Game Rant, the character features a dual moveset that leans heavily into her aggressive combat style from the animated series. This breakdown follows a similar deep dive into Toph's earthbending mechanics back in February, giving the community a clearer picture of how each fighter translates to a competitive fighting game environment.
This project represents a major shift for the franchise. Over the last two decades, the nine previous video game adaptations in the Avatar universe have largely stuck to straightforward third-person action-adventure formulas. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game breaks that mold by delivering a traditional 2D fighter with twelve iconic characters, multiple game modes, and distinct mechanical systems tailored for competitive play. It is a refreshing direction for a massive multimedia property, and it gives fighting game enthusiasts something genuinely new to anticipate.
Set for release on July 2, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. At a time when standard gaming prices frequently push past the seventy dollar mark, Gameplay Group International has confirmed that the standard edition will retail for an accessible $29.99. For cross-platform players looking for a fresh competitive experience with deep source material roots, this July launch is shaping up to be an interesting release to watch.
