Assetto Corsa Rally Brings Dynamic Snow and Laser-Scanned Monte-Carlo Stages to Early Access

Assetto Corsa Rally update 0.3 adds dynamic snow, laser-scanned Monte-Carlo stages, two new cars, and improved controller support.

Supernova Games Studios has rolled out update 0.3 for Assetto Corsa Rally, and the team is leaning hard into a winter sports theme. The headline addition is the debut of dynamic snow in a rally simulation, paired with two laser-scanned Monte-Carlo routes. Players can now test their skills on the Col de Turini and Sisteron stages, which feature a dynamic weather system capable of transitioning from snow to tarmac and back again mid-run. To handle the changing grip, the update introduces dedicated snow tires along with forty new events to work through.

Alongside the slippery new surfaces, the update brings two distinct vehicles to the garage. Drivers can take the classic 1970s Lancia Fulvia or the modern Rally2 Skoda Fabia RS through the cliffside switchbacks. Beyond the content drops, the patch delivers meaningful quality of life improvements, particularly for players using gamepads. Developers have added new gamepad steering filter options, removed default steering dead zones, and fixed Xbox wireless controller detection, making the game much more accessible for players without a full wheel and pedal setup.

As reported by Mark Warren over at Rock Paper Shotgun, these updates make a strong case for players to revisit the early access title. Sim racing titles live and die by their physics models and surface fidelity, so introducing a dynamic surface transition between snow and asphalt is a genuine technical milestone for the genre.
