Assassin's Creed Shadows Collides with Attack on Titan in Surprising Crossover Event

Assassin's Creed Shadows is launching a crossover event with Attack on Titan, bringing new quests, iconic locations, and anime-inspired cosmetics to Ubisoft's open-world game alongside a free story update.

Ubisoft is blending historical fiction with dark fantasy in the latest update for Assassin's Creed Shadows. Running from November 25 through December 22, the newly announced crossover event brings the world of Attack on Titan straight into feudal Japan. Players who have unlocked Yasuke can travel northeast of Yamashiro to begin a brand new questline, which tasks Naoe and Yasuke with venturing into iconic locations like the Crystal Cave and the Underground Chapel to rescue a captive from a secretive cult.

Beyond fighting towering monstrosities, completing the limited-time quest rewards players with an exclusive katana and hidden gear. Ubisoft is also releasing dedicated in-store cosmetic packs, featuring a Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke, a Mikasa look for Naoe, specialized weapons, and a Survey Corps mount for traversal. This unexpected collaboration follows a history of anime crossovers for the franchise, echoing previous nods to Vinland Saga in Valhalla.

The update arrives alongside the game's third free story drop, titled A Puzzlement. This lighter quest has Naoe and Yasuke temporarily swapping signature skills, giving Naoe access to a theatrical spin on Yasuke's heavy kick while letting Yasuke attempt non-lethal stealth takedowns. Alongside new environmental puzzles designed to wrap up lingering narrative threads, this content drop gives players across console and PC plenty of reasons to dive back into the open world.
