The latest Shrouded Sky update for Arc Raiders introduces deadly new drone and sphere enemies, a hurricane map hazard, community projects, and long-awaited facial hair options.
Embark Studios is expanding the Rust Belt with the release of the Shrouded Sky update for Arc Raiders, bringing fresh hazards and new customization options to the extraction shooter. Leading the charge are two brand-new mechanical threats known as the Firefly and The Comet. The Firefly is a floating aerial drone equipped with a devastating flamethrower that forces players to scramble for cover, while The Comet is a ground-based patrolling sphere that locks onto nearby targets and detonates on impact. Surviving topside just got significantly more tactical.
Beyond the new robotic enemies, the update introduces a fresh map condition in the form of a hurricane. Players can work alongside Shani on a new community project to gather materials for a dedicated weather-monitoring system. At the same time, Embark is rolling out a free Surgeon Raider Deck that lets players unlock unique cosmetic rewards, including a full beard. Additional facial hair styles, such as the stubble beard and thick moustache, will also be available through the in-game store for players looking to customize their operator before dropping back into the fray.
Updates like Shrouded Sky highlight how live-service titles keep extraction shooters fresh by mixing high-stakes gameplay modifiers with lighthearted community requests. Adding unpredictable environmental hazards alongside mechanical nightmares ensures that even veteran squads have to adapt their survival strategies.
