ARC Raiders Preps for Soft Relaunch With Massive Frozen Trail Update

Embark Studios is dropping Update 2.0 for ARC Raiders, introducing the snowy Frozen Trail map, a new endgame weapon upgrade system, and a traditional battle pass format.

Embark Studios is gearing up for what it calls a soft relaunch of ARC Raiders with the upcoming Frozen Trail update, shifting the game away from monthly drops toward a twice yearly major content cadence. Landing in just a couple of weeks, Update 2.0 introduces Pendola Pass, a snowy new map featuring a fallen Emperor Arc and hazardous flash freezes that will test squad coordination during the high stakes Frigate operation. Alongside the new region, players can build up the customizable Raider Outpost base and make use of a fully functional Camera Gadget that doubles as an in game photo mode.

The update also shakes up the endgame loop by introducing Amplified Weapons, an upgrade path that unlocks branching abilities at Tier 5 to fundamentally change how specific firearms handle. Players can kit out their loadouts with new gear including a Stiletto battle rifle and a Bantam revolver, while traversal gets a serious upgrade thanks to a grappling hook, tether launcher, and yank grenade. For cosmetic personalization, the Weapon Stencil system lets players apply custom skins, though these prized looks remain vulnerable to rival raiders during extractions.

Progression systems are getting a notable overhaul as well, transitioning away from the older Raider Deck setup in favor of a more traditional Reward Pass featuring free and premium tracks. Meanwhile, a consolidated Legacy Deck rolls all prior Raider Decks into a single free hub for returning players. Backed by new mechanical threats like the turret style Hydra and the rushing Bully, this update gives the community a substantial reason to dive back into the extraction shooter.

Embark Studios has outlined a major pivot for ARC Raiders with Update 2.0, pairing a new map and endgame progression with a shift toward bi annual content drops.
