Apple's latest showcase revealed the long-rumored iPhone Duo foldable alongside the A20 Pro-powered iPhone 18 series, bringing significant performance upgrades and new form factors for mobile gamers.
Apple just wrapped up its latest hardware showcase, finally stepping into the foldable arena with the newly announced iPhone Duo. Launching on October 23 for $1,999, the Duo bucks industry trends by opting for a wider outer display that provides a much more usable aspect ratio when unfolded. For mobile gamers, this layout could make it one of the most practical foldable devices on the market, especially with support for the Apple Pencil and a clever vertical dock designed for single-handed use.
Alongside the foldable, Apple revealed the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, arriving September 18 with starting prices of $1,199 and $1,299 respectively. Powered by the new A20 Pro chip and a significantly larger vapor chamber, the latest pro models focus heavily on sustained gaming performance and on-device Apple Intelligence. During the presentation, the phone showed off demanding mobile titles like Monster Hunter Now running smoothly, while hardware upgrades like a physical shutter on the 48-megapixel main camera target both creators and mobile enthusiasts.
The broader ecosystem also received major updates, with the Apple Watch Series 12, Ultra 4, and AirPods 5 integrating deeper AI capabilities and health-sensing features. While the heavy push into Apple Intelligence will likely spark debate among users wary of AI integration, the hardware itself points to a powerful future for cross-platform entertainment and mobile gaming.
