Another Eden is collaborating with Final Fantasy IX for the Memories of Another Sky crossover event, launching on December 3 for PC and mobile via IGN South Africa.
Mobile and PC players are getting a heavy dose of nostalgia next week. The acclaimed mobile RPG Another Eden is teaming up with Square Enix for a massive crossover event titled Memories of Another Sky, bringing iconic characters from Final Fantasy IX directly into the fold. According to a trailer featured by IGN South Africa, protagonist Aldo will find himself in Alexandria alongside legendary faces like Zidane, Vivi, Garnet, and Steiner.
Beyond just dropping familiar character skins into the game, the crossover leans heavily into what made the original PlayStation classic so memorable. Players can expect specialized mechanics, hidden treasures tracked down via Chocobo Hot and Cold, and the return of Active Time Events to flesh out the narrative outside the main story arc. It is a smart fusion of classic turn-based JRPG DNA and modern live service event design.
For cross-platform players jumping between PC via Steam and mobile devices, this limited crossover offers a compelling reason to log in when it drops on December 3. Crossovers can sometimes feel like hollow marketing exercises, but bringing classic Final Fantasy mechanics like Chocobo riding into Another Eden shows a genuine respect for the source material that long-time fans will appreciate.
