Bandai Namco is releasing an Animal Crossing themed makeup line in September featuring twelve character designs, though fans outside Japan will likely need to rely on resellers.
Game Rant recently reported that Nintendo fans looking for their next Animal Crossing fix will have to settle for a beauty routine rather than a brand new game. Bandai subsidiary Creer Beaute is launching a character inspired makeup collection in September. The lineup features multicolor powders designed for the face or as eyeshadow, styled after fan favorites like Isabelle, Tom Nook, and Ketchup. The items are priced at around three dollars each, though players outside of Japan will likely need to rely on proxy services or secondary markets to get their hands on them.
While the last major mainline entry, New Horizons, launched all the way back in 2020, the franchise has kept itself busy with merchandise drops and hardware updates. Earlier this year, the game received a version upgrade for the Switch 2 alongside a 3.0 content update for the original hardware, bringing features like Joy Con mouse controls and a new megaphone into the mix. Even so, the community is visibly hungry for a completely new title to sink hundreds of hours into.
Blind box and gacha mechanics are nothing new for modern gaming culture, and this physical release leans directly into that thrill of the unknown. The twelve available colors are distributed primarily through gashapon machines and drugstores in Japan. While we wait for Nintendo to finally break the silence on a true successor to New Horizons, community members continue to squeeze every ounce of creativity out of their current island setups.
