Aniimo Enters Closed Beta on Steam as a Free-to-Play Creature Collector

Pawprint Studio has launched the closed beta for Aniimo on Steam alongside a new trailer showcasing its multiplayer modes, social hubs, and creature-catching gameplay ahead of its Q3 2026 launch.

Developer Pawprint Studio has officially launched the closed beta for Aniimo, giving selected players their first hands-on experience with the upcoming free-to-play creature collection game. First revealed at the June 2025 Xbox Showcase, the open-world RPG drops players into the vibrant world of Idyll. The title quickly drew comparisons to traditional 3D monster-catching adventures, landing it squarely on the radar of fans looking for a fresh multiplayer spin on the genre.

Alongside the beta launch, Pawprint Studio dropped a new gameplay trailer showing off what testers can expect during this testing phase. The footage highlights several multiplayer and social features, including a brand-new water-themed zone called Crescent Bay and a social hub known as the Nimbi delivery service. In the hub, players can hit up the pet park, trade creatures with friends, and customize their avatars with new clothing options.

While registration for this current closed beta phase is now closed, the full release is rapidly approaching. Backed by a targeted Q3 2026 launch window, the game is heading to Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile platforms. With the release just months away, players who missed out on the beta won't have to wait too much longer to jump into the open world together. Original reporting comes via Game Rant.
